I would like to share a really useful tool with you today. Reporting is always a concern for our clients and it can be challenging to provide them with the reports they need while trying to avoid extra expense and customization. The Auto report functionality described below is standard in Microsoft Dynamics® AX and can actually be quite powerful. Use this to help avoid costly report creation.
To generate an Auto report, navigate to a List page (such as the All customers list page shown below). Then select the File > Print > Print option from the File drop-down menu.
This will print all fields displayed on the selected list page in a report format.
You can then save the report in Excel, Word or as a PDF, if needed.
You can optionally use the Select button to select which data to display in the report:
Another option is to select Modify and then New (or optionally, Load from user).
You can then select the fields you want to add to the report. You will also have an option to set Summation on fields.
You then select the template to use for the report format.
Once done, you will see the new report in your “Select report” list when running an Auto report.
